SmartMusic Blog: Help – it’s everywhere!

SmartMusic has always included thorough documentation inside the program, but in speaking with SmartMusic users over the years I often got the sense that few people were using it.

Late last year a team was formed to focus on streamlining the documentation and help aspects of SmartMusic 2011. The three main results are:

  1. You can now access the most up-to-date information instantly through the Knowledge Base, which covers the “how-to” and technical questions most customers encounter. In addition, if you need to get in touch with the support staff you can submit a question from the Knowledge Base and we’ll be in touch within a business day.
  2. Important support articles now find their way inside the program’s help section quickly. In the Help Menu, SmartMusic Help, you’ll find a new searchable screen with easy access to this information.
  3. The improvement I’m most excited about, however, is the little question mark seen in the right-hand side of the Settings dialog boxes above. When you’re using SmartMusic and are unsure what something does, click the nearest question mark to find the specific answer in a short, easy to read article.

Of course we still have videos of the more important or trickier issues you might encounter, too.

There’s a certain irony in having updated the documentation and help in SmartMusic 2011, given how easy the redesigned program is to use, but it’s nice to have the most updated info close at hand should you ever need it.
